Who is responsible for this website
This website, datacg.net, is a personal portfolio run by Juliano Oliveira, based in Viborg, Denmark. I am the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach me at contact@datacg.net.
What data I collect and why
Contact form. If you use the contact form, I receive the information you type into it, such as your name, email address, and message. I use it only to reply to you. The message is delivered to my email inbox. My legal basis is my legitimate interest in answering inquiries or, if you write about working together, taking steps you ask for before an agreement. I keep messages for as long as needed to handle your request and normally no longer than 12 months, unless we continue working together.
Email. If you write to contact@datacg.net, I receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. I use it only to reply to you. The email service is provided by Hostinger.
Statistics. I use Burst Statistics, a plugin that runs on this website’s own server, to count visits and see which pages are viewed, how people find the site, their country, and their device and browser type. Burst is set to its cookieless mode: it stores nothing on your device, does not use fingerprinting, and uses an anonymous identifier that changes every day, so it cannot recognize you from one day to the next. The data stays on my server, is not shared with third parties, and is not used for advertising. My legal basis is my legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, your visit is not counted. Statistics are kept only for as long as they are useful for this purpose.
Server logs and security. Like any website, the server records technical data when you visit: your IP address, browser type, the pages requested, and the date and time. Hostinger, my hosting provider, processes this data to deliver the site and keep it secure. A security plugin (Wordfence) also records IP addresses linked to suspected attacks and failed login attempts. My legal basis is my legitimate interest in security and reliable operation. Logs are kept only for a limited time.
Cookies and similar technologies
The site shows a cookie banner where you choose which cookies to accept. Strictly necessary cookies, such as the one that remembers your choice, are set without asking. Everything else depends on your consent:
- Embedded content: YouTube and Vimeo may set cookies when their videos load. This happens only if you accept the relevant cookies.
You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the cookie preferences on this site. For the full list of cookies and how long they last, see the Cookie Policy. I do not run ads on this site.
Embedded content from other websites
Some pages embed videos from YouTube or Vimeo, and the Videos page shows the feed from my YouTube channel. When this content loads, the provider may set cookies and receive your IP address and other technical data, as if you were visiting its own site. Each provider handles your data under its own policy: Google (YouTube) at policies.google.com/privacy and Vimeo at vimeo.com/privacy.
Who receives your data
- Hostinger, which hosts the website and provides the email service that receives your messages.
- Google, for YouTube when embedded content loads.
- Vimeo, when embedded content loads.
I do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or make automated decisions about you.
Transfers outside the EU/EEA
Google and Vimeo may process data in the United States. Where data leaves the EU/EEA, providers rely on safeguards such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses. Hostinger is an EU-based company.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask me to:
- give you access to the personal data I hold about you;
- correct data that is wrong;
- delete your data;
- restrict how I use it;
- give you a copy in a portable format;
- stop using it where I rely on my legitimate interest.
You can also withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what happened before.
To use any of these rights, email me at contact@datacg.net. I will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with my answer, you can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet) or to the data protection authority in your own country.
Links to other websites
Links to my profiles (YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn) and to project prototypes hosted elsewhere take you to sites with their own privacy policies. This policy does not cover them.
Changes to this policy
If I change how the site handles personal data, I will update this page and the date at the top.
